Awards Presented to Graduating 8th Graders

226At this year’s Spring Concerts, as is true every spring, awards were presented to a number of graduating 8th grade musicians in recognition of their achievements while part of the PVSD/YAA music programs.

The Outstanding Eighth Grade Musician award, which iincludes a $100 scholarship from Save Our Kids’ Music, name engraved on a perpetual plaque, and a small individual plaque, went to Ellie Brumage of Monte Vista School and The Off Beats, and Helen Zhang, of Las Colinas School and The Off Beats.

The Most Improved Eighth Grade Musician award, which consists of name engraved on perpetual plaque and a small individual plaque, went to Lucas McFadden of Monte Vista School and The Off Beats, and Cameron Chatfield of Las Colinas School and The Off Beats.

The Alan Black Memorial Award, which includes name engraved on a perpetual plaque and a small individual plaque, was given to Annika Falconer of Monte Vista School, and Justin Surwin of Las Colinas School and The Off Beats.

The Don and Jacky Wallace Memorial Award, including name on a perpetual plaque and a small individual plaque, went to Cody Johnson of Monte Vista School, and Juliette Kippen of Las Colinas School.

The Director Award, a small individual plaque, went to Ariana Espinosa of Las Colinas School.

Also, twenty-two five-year pins were awarded.
