Painting and Drawing Class Draws to a Close

The YAA Painting and Drawing class will be ending on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Said teacher Katherine Pichelli, “We have had such a great session in the Youth Arts Academy Painting and Drawing Class! …We have learned how to use a wide variety of mediums including; watercolor, acrylic paint, chalk pastels, crayons, markers, colored pencils and graphite. We explored the impressionist movement and created both Van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” using crayons and watercolors and Monet’s “Garden Path,” using acrylic paint, sponge painting, and pointillism. We also experimented with mixing paints to get the desired color.”

Shown in the pictures are some floral creations as well as a wintery barn scene using chalk pastels.
